Legal / Terms of use

The agreement, in plain language

What you can expect from Huko and what we expect from you. The parts most people actually need are credits, refunds and what you own — clauses 05, 06 and 09.

  • Effective 31 August 2026
  • Governing law India
  • Operator Crevolve Infosoft Pvt Ltd

01 Acceptance of these terms #

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Crevolve Infosoft Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated in India, trading as Huko ("Huko", "we", "our", "us"). They govern your use of the Huko desktop application, the website at huko.ai, and the API service the app talks to (together, the "Service").

By downloading the app, creating an account, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that company.

Our Privacy Policy is part of this agreement. Read it — it explains the one thing that shapes everything else here: your footage and your projects stay on your computer.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

02 Eligibility and your account #

2.1 Age

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least 16 if you are in the EEA or the UK unless a parent or guardian consents on your behalf. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms.

2.2 Accurate details

Register with an email address you control and keep it current. Account notices, receipts and password resets go there, and we are not responsible for what you miss at an address you abandoned.

2.3 Keeping your account secure

You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account. Turn on two-factor authentication if the account matters to you. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

Sign-in from the desktop app uses a pairing code shown in both the app and your browser. Only approve a code you can see on your own screen. Approving a code someone sends you hands them your account.

Each machine you sign in on holds its own session, and you can revoke any of them individually without signing out the rest.

2.4 One account per person

Create one account. Opening additional accounts to collect the free plan's credits more than once is credit fraud under clause 10, and we will close all of them.

03 What Huko is #

Huko is a video editor that runs on your computer, with AI generation delivered over the network. It is free to download and free to use; paid plans buy a larger monthly generation allowance, not extra features.

3.1 Local editing, remote generation

Editing, previewing, captioning and exporting run on your own hardware, offline. Generating media — a script, a scene, a motion graphic, an image, a voiceover — runs on our servers and needs a connection. The app works without one; the AI features do not.

3.2 AI output varies

Generated media is produced by statistical models. The same prompt can produce different results on different days, quality varies, and a result may not match what you pictured. That is the nature of the technology rather than a defect in the Service, and it is not on its own grounds for a refund outside the window in clause 06.

3.3 Availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages, capacity limits and events outside our control all happen. None of it affects your ability to keep editing and exporting the projects on your own disk.

3.4 Changes to the Service

We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something material to a paid plan, we will give notice, and you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of that term.

04 Plans, billing and renewal #

4.1 The plans

Huko plans, prices and monthly credit allowances
Plan Billed yearly Billed monthly Credits
Free Free Free 100 credits to start
Starter $18/mo $21/mo 3,500 credits / month
Creator $50/mo $75/mo 10,000 credits / month
Studio $120/mo $150/mo 25,000 credits / month

Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. The current plans and what each includes are on the pricing section, and both it and this table are generated from the same file.

4.2 Payment processing

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record for every Huko purchase. That means Dodo Payments sells the subscription to you, handles the card, calculates and remits tax, and issues your invoice. Your card details never reach Huko. Their terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself, in addition to these terms.

4.3 Renewal

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — at the rate in force when you subscribed, until you cancel. Cancel any time before the renewal date to stop the next charge.

If a price changes, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your subscription, and you may cancel before then.

4.4 Credits accrue monthly, even on a yearly plan

Worth knowing

A yearly plan is a yearly payment, not a yearly lump of credits. A yearly Creator subscriber pays once and receives 10,000 credits every month for twelve months — not 120,000 up front. The same is true of every yearly plan.

4.5 Upgrades and downgrades

An upgrade takes effect immediately and is charged pro-rata for the remainder of the period. A downgrade takes effect at the next renewal, so you keep what you have paid for until then.

4.6 Tax

Prices exclude sales tax, VAT and GST. Dodo Payments determines and adds what is due for your location at checkout.

4.7 The free plan

The free plan is real and it stays. It includes the complete editor, every export feature, no watermark, and 100 credits.

Read this one

The free plan's 100 credits are granted once, when you sign up. They are not a monthly allowance and they do not refresh. Editing and exporting stay unlimited and free after they are spent; generation is what stops.

4.8 Failed payment

If a renewal payment fails we will retry and email you. If it stays unpaid, the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan. The projects on your computer are untouched.

05 How credits work #

5.1 What credits are

Credits are the unit Huko meters AI generation in. They are a licence to use the Service, not currency: they have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, sold, exchanged or redeemed for money, and are not property.

5.2 Only generation costs credits

What each kind of AI generation costs in credits
Produced Cost
Generated video 50 credits per second of finished clip
Generated image 20 credits each
AI voiceover 100 credits per minute, billed per second
Motion-graphic clip 50 credits per clip
Music, sound effects, captions and transitions 50 credits, once per produced video
Editing, re-editing, previewing and exporting Free, on every plan, with no limit
Captioning audio you already have Free — it runs on your own machine

You are charged for what was produced, not for asking. Rates may change with 30 days' notice by email; a change never applies retroactively to credits already spent.

5.3 Reserved, then settled at the true cost

A job's real cost is not knowable when you submit it — the pipeline decides how long the video runs and how many scenes it needs. So Huko estimates, reserves that many credits, and settles at the measured cost when the job finishes. Estimates deliberately err high, and the difference comes back to you.

If a finished job turns out to cost more than was reserved, the excess is written off. It is never a debt, your balance stops at zero, and the media is still yours.

5.4 A failed job is never charged

Guarantee

If a job fails or you cancel it, every reserved credit is returned in full. If a balance ever looks wrong, email us with the approximate time and we will reconcile it against the ledger — every movement is recorded with the breakdown behind it.

5.5 Expiry

  • Plan credits are for the month they were granted. Anything unspent is cleared when the next month's allowance arrives — they do not roll over.
  • The free plan's signup credits do not expire on a clock. They last until you spend them.
  • Credits we grant separately — support gestures, bug bounties — carry whatever expiry we state when granting them, and are spent before your plan allowance, so nothing you were given expires while a monthly allowance sits unused.

5.6 When you run out

What happens depends on your plan. On Free and Starter, new generation is refused until your credits refresh — nothing breaks and nothing is charged. On Creator and Studio you keep generating past the allowance at reduced speed, and on the yearly Studio plan at full speed. Overflow generation is not billed as extra credits.

5.7 No refund for spent credits

Once a job has completed and delivered its media, the credits it consumed are spent. That is a separate question from the refund right in clause 06, which is about the payment rather than the credits.

06 Refunds #

6.1 Fourteen days, no questions

Refund right

Any subscription payment is refundable in full if you ask within 14 calendar days of the charge. No conditions inside that window — you do not have to show unused credits and you do not have to give a reason.

Refunds go back to your original payment method through Dodo Payments and typically take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.

6.2 How to ask

Email [email protected] with the subject "Refund request — [your account email]", and include the charge date and amount. We acknowledge within 2 business days and process eligible refunds within 5. You may also contact Dodo Payments directly, since as merchant of record it can process the refund itself.

6.3 After the fourteen days

Requests made more than 14 days after a charge are not eligible, except for a verified billing error. If you cancel later, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for; there is no partial refund for the unused remainder, and unspent plan credits expire with the cycle as usual.

6.4 Billing errors

A genuine billing error — a duplicate charge, a charge after cancellation, a charge at the wrong rate — is investigated and corrected whenever you report it, regardless of how many credits have been used. Report one within 60 days of the charge.

6.5 Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — we can almost always resolve it faster. Raising a chargeback for a charge we would have refunded suspends the account while it is investigated, because the account and the payment can no longer be reconciled.

6.6 Statutory rights

Consumers in the EU, the UK and other jurisdictions with a statutory withdrawal period keep those rights in full. Nothing in this clause reduces them, and where they are more generous than the 14 days above, they apply.

07 Cancellation and deletion #

7.1 Cancelling a subscription

Cancel any time from your account. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for. You keep the plan, its credits and its speed until that period ends, then the account moves to the free plan.

7.2 Coming back

Resubscribing at any time restores the plan. Credits that expired while you were away do not return.

7.3 Deleting your account

You can delete your account entirely. This cancels any active subscription, forfeits every remaining credit, and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. It is permanent, and we cannot undo it.

Your work survives

Deleting your Huko account does not delete anything on your computer. Your projects, your media and your exports are files on your own disk and remain yours, openable and exportable. The editor keeps working without an account.

08 Your files and your projects #

8.1 Your files stay yours

You keep every right you already had in the footage, audio, images and scripts you bring to Huko. We claim nothing in them. Because they are not uploaded, we have no copy to claim anything in.

8.2 The licence you grant, and its limits

When you submit a generation job you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, transmit and process the content of that job, and to pass it to the AI provider that will fulfil it. That licence exists for one purpose — running the job you asked for — and ends when the job's data is swept.

What we will not do with it

We do not train models on your content, we do not use it to improve our own or anyone else's models, we do not publish it, and we do not sell or license it to third parties.

8.3 What you promise about it

You confirm you hold the rights to everything you submit, and that submitting it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.

8.4 Backups are yours

Huko is not a backup service and does not store your projects. Keeping copies of work you care about is your responsibility, and we are not liable for local data loss — a disk failure, a deleted folder, an overwritten export.

09 AI output and intellectual property #

9.1 You own the output

Subject to your compliance with these terms, we assign to you whatever rights we hold in the media Huko generates for you — video, images, voiceover, motion graphics and scripts. You may use it commercially, publish it, modify it, and sell work that includes it. No attribution is required and no watermark is applied, on any plan.

9.2 We do not guarantee it is original or protectable

AI output is produced from patterns learned across large datasets. We cannot guarantee that a given result is unique, that a similar one has not been produced for someone else, or that it does not resemble existing work. In several jurisdictions, purely AI-generated material may not attract copyright protection at all. Checking that output is suitable for your intended use — and clearing it where your use demands that — is your responsibility.

9.3 Huko's own intellectual property

The application, the website, our name, logo, interface, documentation and the systems behind them remain ours. These terms grant you a licence to use the Service, not any ownership in it. Do not copy, reverse engineer, decompile or redistribute the application except to the extent that right cannot lawfully be excluded.

9.4 The built-in libraries

Transitions, animation presets, motion templates, character parts and other assets shipped with the app may be used freely in anything you make with Huko. They may not be extracted and redistributed as an asset pack, a template library, or as part of a competing product.

10 Acceptable use #

You agree not to use the Service to:

10.1 Produce illegal or harmful material

  • Anything unlawful where you are, or where the result will be published.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any sexualised depiction of a real person without their consent.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, defames or incites violence against a person or group.
  • Material designed to deceive people to their financial or physical detriment — scams, fake endorsements, fabricated news.

10.2 Impersonate people

Do not generate a synthetic likeness or voice of a real person in order to pass it off as genuine. Satire and clearly-labelled parody are fine where the law allows them; a convincing fake made to deceive is not, and neither is a cloned voice used without consent.

10.3 Attack the Service

  • No probing, scanning or attempting to breach the API, the app or our infrastructure.
  • No circumventing rate limits, credit accounting, plan restrictions or authentication.
  • No introducing malware, and no interfering with anyone else's use of the Service.

Good-faith security research is welcome — see how to report a vulnerability.

10.4 Cheat the credit system

  • No multiple or automated accounts to collect the free grant repeatedly.
  • No reselling, sublicensing or sharing your generation quota with people who are not you.
  • No fraudulent chargebacks or payment instruments.

10.5 Automate or resell it

Do not script the app or the API to run bulk generation, and do not wrap the Service in your own product or offer it as a service to others. If you want to build on Huko, ask us.

11 Suspension and termination #

11.1 When we act

We may suspend or close an account for a material breach of these terms, credit or payment fraud, activity that endangers the Service or other users, or where we are legally required to. Where the circumstances allow it we warn first; where they do not — active fraud, an attack in progress, content that must come down immediately — we act first and explain after.

11.2 What suspension does

A suspended account cannot submit new jobs, and its credits are frozen — not deleted — while we investigate. Suspension does not pause your subscription's billing, so if you expect to be suspended for a while, cancel.

The editor keeps working

Suspension affects generation. It does not disable the editor: your projects still open, still edit and still export from your own machine.

11.3 Appeals

Write to [email protected] and we will review it with a person, not a rule. If we got it wrong we will restore the account and its credits in full.

11.4 Termination for cause

If we close an account for a serious breach, unused credits are forfeited and no refund is due beyond any statutory right. The clauses on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.

11.5 Your right to leave

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, for any reason.

12 Disclaimers and limitation of liability #

12.1 Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that AI output will be accurate, original, suitable for your purpose, or free of third-party rights.

12.2 Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Huko and its officers, employees and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or the cost of substitute services, however caused and on any theory of liability.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose and $50.

12.3 The basis of the bargain

These limits are a fundamental part of the agreement and apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Huko is offered at these prices, with a real free tier, because risk is allocated this way.

12.4 Where the law says otherwise

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, and nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the minimum the law permits, and consumer rights that cannot be waived are unaffected.

13 Indemnification #

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crevolve Infosoft Pvt Ltd and its officers, employees and agents from any claim, liability, loss or reasonable legal cost arising out of your use of the Service in breach of these terms, content you submitted that you did not hold the rights to, or your publication or commercial use of media generated for you.

We will tell you promptly about any such claim, and you may control its defence provided you do not settle in a way that admits fault on our behalf or imposes an obligation on us without our written consent.

14 Third-party services and components #

Huko depends on services we do not operate: AI model providers, Dodo Payments for payments, hosting and storage providers, and an email delivery service. Their availability and their own terms affect the Service, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

The desktop application also includes third-party open-source components. Their licences and notices ship with the app and continue to govern those components; nothing in these terms limits any right you have under an open-source licence.

15 Governing law and disputes #

15.1 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.

15.2 Talk to us first

Before starting formal proceedings, email [email protected] with the details. Most disputes are a billing question with a fast answer, and we commit to trying to resolve it within 30 days.

15.3 Consumer rights

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. Nothing in this clause removes a right you cannot waive.

15.4 Severability and waiver

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.

16 Changes to these terms #

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

For material changes — pricing structure, credit rules, refund rights, liability — we email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. For clarifications, typos and changes that only benefit you, we update the page.

Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, cancel before that date; if the change is material and you cancel because of it, we will refund the unused portion of the term you have paid for.

17 Contact #

Questions about these terms, a refund, a suspension or a dispute all go to the same place.
